Two-component acoustic foam is a sound-absorbing material formed by hot-pressing two types of fibers with different melting points (typically polyester fiber + low-melting-point bonding fiber). It requires no glue, is environmentally friendly and odorless, and is commonly used in noise reduction applications such as automotive interiors, home appliances, energy storage cabinets, and building partition walls.
Core technical parameters

Instructions |
| Weight/surface density |
150–800 g/m² |
Commonly used energy storage cabinets 200–400 g/m² |
| Thickness |
5–60 mm |
Commonly used in cabinets 10–30 mm |
| Noise Reduction Coefficient NRC |
≥0.76(high-end ≥0.85) |
The closer the value is to 1, the better the sound absorption |
| Medium to high frequency sound absorption coefficient |
0.85–1.10(500–4000Hz) |
Good effect on fan and duct noise |
| Flame retardant rating |
B1 level flame retardant (GB8624), some can reach A2 level |
The energy storage cabinet must confirm the flame retardant report |
| Temperature resistance range |
-40℃ ~ 120℃ |
Short term durability 150℃ |
| thermal conductivity |
≤0.033 W/(m·K) |
Having both insulation and heat preservation functions |
| Compression recovery rate |
≥70% |
Resilience after compression |
| environment protection |
Free of formaldehyde, odorless, E1 grade or above |
Can come into direct contact with the skin |
| water absorption |
Hydrophobic and non moldy |
The sound absorption performance does not decrease after immersion in water |
Frequency division sound-absorbing reference (5mm thick sample):
- 400Hz:≥0.20
- 630Hz:≥0.40
- 1000Hz:≥0.60
- 2000Hz:≥0.80
- 4000Hz:≥0.90
For every doubling of thickness, the low-frequency sound absorption effect significantly improves; More than 20mm has better absorption for low frequencies (below 250Hz).

Cabin sound insulation and functional area separation |
20–30mm,Used in conjunction with sound insulation layer |
| Surrounding area of liquid cooling unit |
Compressor and pump body noise absorption |
20–30mm,Pay attention to avoiding heat dissipation channels |
Key points of selection
- First, determine the noise frequency band: the fan/duct should be dominated by medium and high frequencies, with a range of 10-15mm; Transformers/compressors contain low-frequency components and require a minimum of 25mm.
- Flame retardant is a hard threshold: Energy storage cabinets have high fire safety requirements and must require third-party testing reports of GB8624 B1 level or above. UL94 V-0 can be used as a supplementary reference.
- Density and heat dissipation balance: The higher the density, the better the sound absorption, but the greater the ventilation resistance; High density cotton is prohibited in the air duct, and 300-400g/m ² can be used in non ventilated areas.
- Installation method: It can be self-adhesive, fastened with buckles, or inserted into the cavity behind the perforated plate; The metal surface needs to be cleaned and degreased first.
- Thickness tolerance: It is required to be within ± 1mm to avoid assembly interference.
